Please remember my friend Misty Lowe and her boys. She has been having a hard time seeing sense the accident. I think some of the powder from the airbag got into her eyes.

Also remember me and my family. The doc has not released me to go back to work yet, but I have been coming to the shop and supervising to keep my mind of of things. My back and shoulders have been killing me. I know all will get better with time.

There are many other unspoken requests that I would like for you to remember. God has a plan, and there is a bigger picture to everything in life. Each trial is but a piece and a fraction in time. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

Tuesday Feb 7th. I had been trying to get our dogs re-homed. We have allergies, 1/3 of an acre unfenced, and 2 BIG dogs. Not a kewl mix. So I found someone to help me. I took them up to get their shots, tests, and paperwork under way. While we where there, there was an emergency with another dog, and we ended up spending 2+ hours doing what I expected to only take 30 minutes. I had to come home, shower, and then go to my physical therapy appointment. Then come home and make dinner.

Wednesday Feb 8th started off pretty normal. I worked the shop with my Mom. I got a good bit done, and even took the evening to go to church. My friend Misty calls me. I was at church, did not recognize the number, and do not answer the phone. I call her back after church to find out that Her mucus plug has dislodged and she is in labor. EEEK!! SO I make plans to go pick her up early the next morning.

Thursday Feb 9th I drive about 60-70 miles north and pick her and her son up. We come back to the house, and labor here a while. We walk around Walmart a while. We pick up our fosters from DC, and take them home. Then we head for the hospital. 2 hours later I get a call saying that 2 of the children AND my hubby dearest had a violent stomach flu. Poor guys. The rest of the night was laboring, watching movies, and catching up on years past.

Friday Feb 10th morning at 6:41 a beautiful baby boy arrives in a very interesting story that will be told in another post. The dogs where scheduled to be at the vet at 8am to be fixed, and sent to their new homes. SO my poor hubby, sick as can be, loads up the two big dogs, drives them to the vet, and gets them all set for surgery. The baby ends up choking on amniotic fluid and turning blue. More on that in another post. It buys us another full day at the hospital.

Saturday Feb 11th Misty’s older son comes down with the same flu that had already been plaguing the other house hold members. So now there are 4 with the stomach flu, and the 8 month old foster still has the trotts too. They decide to keep us another day at the hospital to observe the baby. Oh, and it’s also my 3rd son’s 10th birthday. SO I leave her at the hospital for a few hours, rush home, shower, sing happy birthday to Joey, give him his gifts, and rush back to the hospital.

Sunday Feb 12th we get released from the hospital, and come home. By this time Misty’s son was hitting the worse of the stomach flu, and the others where getting better. Sunday night there where 11 of us here. 3 adults, 6 kids, 2 babies. We where up every 2 hours with the 3 yr old, and newborn. One screaming for bobbie, and the other screaming with a belly ache and bad dreams.

Monday Feb 13th I had to go in and do the books at the shop. SO I dropped my youngest 2 boys off at daycare, and went to the shop. Mid day Dan and I switched. I spent the rest of the day at the house with the kids and Misty. We got everything packed up, and ready to take her home on Tuesday. Mom took a few of my kids with her. Everyone slept a little better, and I only had to rescue Misty 2 times. So that was way better than the night before.

Tuesday Feb 14th Valentines day. I got up early, sent the two boys off to daycare, and Dan to work, with my second oldest son in tow.  We get the van all packed, (Me, Misty, her 3 yr old son, 4 day old son, and my 7 yr old daughter) run to the shop, pick up the money bag, run to the bank, make our deposit, go by the gas station and fill up the van, and head to take Misty and her two boys to the doc. We get about 15-20 minutes down the road, and a teal blue van comes up the merge lane, and does not see us. They start pushing over into our lane, SO I swerve into the fast lane to avoid him, and he is still coming over, so I swerve again, and tried to miss the wall, but lost control of the van. We smacked the concrete barrier, spun around on the wet pavement, smacked it again, and eventually came to a stop. Lucky for us the pavement was wet so we spun, instead of flipping. Misty’s boys escaped without a mark. Sissy has a bruise on her arm, I have a skinned nose, bruising, and LOTS of soreness. Poor Misty got the short straw tho. Her seat was pushed up, because of the infant car seat, so she got up close and personal with the air bag. It broke her nose, skinned and burned her face, busted her lip, and knocked some teeth loose. So off we go to the hospital again. The van btw is completely totaled (and with $50 of gas in the tank, sigh).  That night my mom kept 3 of my kids, and Misty slept down in the lower bedroom. We thought they would rest better there, and we would too. However, what we did not count on was our almost 9 month old cutting 2 new teeth through that night. Plus our 3 1/2 yr old had od’d on candy, cake and cookies at daycare (Valentines party), so he was up throwing up everywhere.

Wednesday the 15th we sent my two youngest to daycare. With a little tylenol, and a good nights rest, they where both good to go the next morning. Well the older of the two got a good nights rest after he got sick at least. The baby ehh not so much. He was still much better come morning. Misty, myself, her two boys and my oldest where all that stayed home on Wednesday. I was determined to work the aches out. So I took my pain killer, and dusted the living room, library, and cleaned the kitchen. I found my sewing desk, and vacuumed the library real well. Everyone slept much better that night.

Thursday Feb 16th Morning Dan and I ran up to Blaine TN where the van had been towed to, and got everything out of the van. When we got back here Misty’s Dad had arrived from VA to take her and the boys back home. We got them loaded up, and then Dan and I ate a sandwich and headed to my physical therapy session. She said the good news was that I had not done anything too serious in the accident, and with some constant stretching and moving, I would be better in no time. We came home, intending to take an hours nap. Next thing we knew it was almost closing time, and my mother was calling to wake us up. EEEEP! I guess our bodies really needed the rest. All slept well Thursday night. Our 9 month old slept 8 hours, had a bottle, and slept 2-3 more hours. Yeaa!

Friday Feb 17, my second oldest son’s 13th birthday. Mom picked me up and took me to the shop. The doc will not let me “work” yet. I just HAD to go and be there at least though. I missed my little shop so. Dan n my son picked me up at noon. We went to lunch, then a movie for his birthday. Now we are all home, and a new chapter is beginning.

I do not know where life is going to take us from here. It was most certainly a wild ride the past 2 weeks though. There are several other things that went on during the week that I could add to this post. I do believe this  is enough to make your head spin though. It certainly does mine!!
